G.I. Joe M.U.L.E. Concept

Deco drawing for my M.U.L.E.

The M.U.L.E. is a project I’ve been wanting to do for quite a while. It’s a very simple 1:18th scale Tractor based on the 1:64th scale one that came with G.I. Joe US-1 Electric Trucking Set made by Tyco back in the early 80s.

I’m still in the planning stages for this truck, but this drawing was done at a 1:1 scale and uses the wheels from the 1983 G.I. Joe A.P.C. That’s probably the base that I’ll start with on this. I’m planning to have both doors open as well as an access panel on each side of the sleeper. I’ll also eventually make two or three different trailers to go along with the tractor. This is one of those dream projects that I’d love to work on if I can ever find the time that I’d need to actually complete it.

Looking back it’s kind of odd that they never made some kind of cargo/transport truck as part of the vintage toy line. It seems like that would have been a very basic necessity during the early days of the line.
